Fraudsters sometimes impersonate financial firms and their people, particularly around transactions. This page describes how Founders Group communicates and how to protect yourself.
How we communicate
- Email from Founders Group comes from addresses ending in @foundersg.com. Check the sender’s full address, not just the display name.
- We will never ask you for a password, and we will never request payment by gift card or cryptocurrency.
Wire and payment fraud
Wire fraud is the most common threat in M&A transactions. Before sending funds or acting on payment instructions:
- Verify the instructions by phone with a known contact at a number you already have — never at a number provided in the same message.
- Treat any last-minute change to wire instructions as a red flag, however routine it is made to sound.
- Confirm receipt with the counterparty after sending.
Phishing
Be cautious with unexpected links and attachments, urgent requests, and messages that press you to act outside normal channels. If a message claiming to be from Founders Group seems off, contact us directly before responding to it.
Protecting your accounts
Use strong, unique passwords for accounts connected to a transaction, enable multi-factor authentication where available, and avoid discussing deal details over unsecured channels.
Reporting
If you believe you have received a fraudulent communication in our name, or have sent funds in response to one, contact your bank immediately and let us know.
